What's up everybody, Josh tap here again and welcome back to the lucky Titan podcast. So today I wanted to take some time and hop on an episode here with you guys to talk about pivots. There's a lot of people right now who are just freaking out over what's happening with, you know, the Coronavirus as far as on an economic scale. I'm not really here to talk about the health side of things, but really just, you know, what it's doing to to business owners in general. And this really is an episode about the Coronavirus. I really wanted to talk mostly about your experience of what's been happening. So I wanted to tell you a little bit about what's happened with us over the past few months. Our business has been growing through the masterminds we've been building out a huge following of people which has been really fun because we've been strictly using free advertising methods like joint venture partnerships. So we've been doing this we've been seeing a really just a rapid change in what we're doing. We've seen a lot of little pivots, you know, little tweaks we've had to make, but then the Coronavirus hit right so like everybody we're like oh shoot. So it was crazy, guys, this is what happened. We lost over 70% of our business in three days, you know, for most businesses that would cripple them, right. And I was just devastated for about two days and putting myself having kind of a little pity party saying now like, why do we even do this is stupid, you know, putting all this work in it just like fell apart, you know? Then I got to the other side of it. I was talking with a guy and listening to an episode of the Marketing Secrets podcast with Russell Brunson. And they were talking about, you know, those who win are the people who are going to pin it in this moment, the ones who are going to double down and I realized, Oh, my gosh, you've been teaching something and you're not even following your own lesson, right? Which is kind of how it works with business. You know, we, we see everybody else's business. It's pretty easy to solve their problems, but then with our own we have these blinders on with, you know, well, that wouldn't work for me. So, try to live up to or listen to my own counsel, I guess you could say and what happened for us as I said, Okay, what are we what are we doing wrong? What Why did everybody drop out? And then what do my people need right now, you know, I have people who are religiously following me, they're waiting for me to help him solve, you know, really just their business issues right now a lot of people follow us because they want to know how to grow their audience and how to have a stable, consistent business. And ours has been stable and consistent during this time. And I said, Okay, when when we lose 70% of our business, how do we recoup that? by, you know, providing the best value that we can offer? So what I teach people, everybody knows this, if you listen to our podcasts, it's all about your branding. And it's all about engagement with your audience, right? Getting people to and I'm not even talking in your likes, comments and shares on your post. I'm talking true customer engagement. So for three days, all I did, I talked to people all day in our audiences, so in our free audiences and our paid masterminds, people who had quit so that I could ask them what they needed. And this is what was crazy. We figured out we just needed to change our messaging a tiny bit. All we did is we put out a challenge we did a 37 day challenge or excuse me a $37 30 Day Challenge. Great challenge. I actually put my heart and soul into this. We've been selling a course I've been selling for $1,000 I put it in there for $37. So I hope anybody who's bought that has enjoyed that. But what the course has done and what the challenge has done is it kind of opened the door because when I says hey, let's help you get 100 raving fans, that's what my audience wants right now. So we made that challenge. We launched it I didn't spend a single dime on advertising. I just went out and handed it to people. And it's blown up guys I can't even tell you this challenge has been full of amazing people. Lots of success stories already of people hitting their first hundred fans within the first five days. Okay, big stuff happening there. I've loved that. But then I said okay, what are what am I? What am I really need right now, and all of us need free advertising methods. Everybody's business is taking a hit. So how do we build it together? So with our mastermind we decided to add in an extra piece and this is just sales one on one. Okay, if you have a core piece of your offer that isn't selling, you need to add something else in front of it. That is Something they want more, and your core offer becomes the bonus. Because if the bonus is worth that amount of money, people are going to buy it just to get the bonuses right. So we changed it all up. We said, Okay, we're all about getting raving fans. And this has helped us really refine our message. And I'll get to that in a minute. But it helped us refine our message and say, Okay, what, what are the specific needs of our audience? So we sat down, and we actually launched this, this new child, we're calling that Pantheon groups because a Pantheon is a tribe, or excuse me, a group of Titans, right. So obviously, sticking to our branding on that side of things, I had to pat myself on the back, because that kind of pulled that out of nowhere, but it was pretty exciting. So anyway, so I went and we launched that and we said, okay, let's look at how we can help you get that right, that audience of raving fans and let's build a joint venture together. I promote you know, that's all I ever talk about joint ventures because it's the easiest way to grow your business and it's free, and you're gonna meet great people along the way and have a lot of amazing things happen to you. as we've been doing that doing those joint ventures, I've realized that most people don't do them because they don't have the time to put it together. They look at some of these joint ventures I recommend, you know, the summit or you know, the email collaboration, I say, Man is gonna take me 50 to 100 hours, which is true, but it always pays off. So I was like, man, you've definitely got to do these. But instead of just say, Hey, this is what you have to do. I want to see what what do they want to do? So what I decided is Hank, saying, hey, Okay, can I build them a joint venture deal? Can I help people really get this, this joint venture set up and running immediately. And you know, without having to put in a ton of time. And I've been doing one on LinkedIn, that's been really amazing, worked really well for us, because what we did so we have over 11,000 connections on LinkedIn, but we'd make a post or we get like 20 to 50 engagements, which is good, but it typically wouldn't become sales. So for the past six months, I've actually been working with a couple other people who have about the same size audience as we do, you know, they're sitting at around 10,000 people on LinkedIn, and I've just been tagging them in the post and then they comment and share and we've been doing it for Other, what was crazy as we went from anywhere from, you know, 20 to 50 engagements, all the way up to 800 to 1200 engagements on these posts, and directly trackable sales, like this result blew my mind when it first happened. I was like, man, we're doing something, right. So I went through and said, Okay, how can we provide the same result for people, you know, using LinkedIn or using Facebook or what have you helping them? First off, you know, tailor their content correctly to actually get sales, but not be too salesy and have people just be attracted to your messaging, right? So instead of teaching them everything, I just said, hey, let's just build them a joint venture. So we actually have been selling that and then the mastermind has just been a bonus, but obviously, like you and I know if you listen to this, the mastermind is what will change their business, but what they want is the joint venture, which will also change their business. So that's what we lead with because it's what they want. And then we give them what they need. So the beautiful thing about this is okay, so I told you I lost 70% of my business in three days. Right? Here's the demo. In one week later, we had replaced that business that 70% we had lost and we have over over doubled our business and will pet in the past month. Okay? Huge, amazing results for us. It was so exciting. And the reason why is because we pivoted, we said, okay, I'm not gonna let this get me down. I'm not gonna keep just trying to sell what I want to sell because I want to sell it. We had to change what we were doing. You don't have to change your entire offer. You have to change sometimes just the structure of what you're doing. Figure out what your audience wants, give it to them at this time, and you're going to see amazing results. One of the things that a lot of people don't think about when they're building their audience, they're they're always thinking about Okay, I have this product I want to offer this is my skill. This is my strength. It has nothing to do with how cool you are. Okay? If you listen to me, I obviously I talk super fast. I'm not like the coolest guy in the world. I don't know everything about business or marketing. I'm just here saying hey, I want to go on this journey with you. Let's let's do this together and doing that. As a attracted more people to us. And the nice thing for me is I don't have to be the guy who knows everything. I'll go out and find somebody who can, you know, solve your problem better than me? Because I'm, I mean, if you ask me right now you say, hey, Josh, do you do my taxes? I'll say, absolutely not. I have a degree in finance. I know how to do it, but I hate it. And I'm not the best person at it. But I have a partner who is an excellent accountant. He's done amazing work for us. Here you go. Let me hand you off to him or let him Let me bring him on the show or bring him into our community or we'll do a mastermind was when he was with with our audience to help everybody to taxes. So do you see what I'm saying? It's all about really figuring out what your audience wants, give them what they want. Don't give them what they need, okay? Sell them what they want, give them what they need is what I meant to say there. So make sure that you're focusing heavily on that right now. If your business is struggling, don't give in to the fear. Okay. The businesses that are winning through this Coronavirus, the ones who are not getting hit by this economic you know, disaster are the people who have been changing their mind. messaging doesn't have to change your product. You don't have to build a whole new business. It's about changing your message, change your message, change your message. I'm going to repeat that over and over again. She's worked with some big name people, you know, Lewis Howes, and other people like that, who are, you know, name brand people in our community. And working with people like her, we've, we've been realizing that it comes down to not just your messaging, but the people with the strongest brands are winning right now. So if you're just, you know, making a brand about I don't even want to give a bad example, cuz I don't wanna hurt anybody's feelings if they're listening to this, but there's, there's quite a few businesses out there where it's like, you know, it's like Sam's restaurant, right? It's not really I mean, the messaging isn't Amazing, right? You're not you're not aligning well with your audience. The reason we call this the lucky tight, right, it's fun. Because people call me the lucky Titan odds have I'm not the lucky Titan I that's literally just the name of the podcast. But the reason I did that is because I wanted to create something that my audience could see themselves as so and see people join our community, they join our tribe, right? They become a Titan. anybody's listening to this podcast, you're a Titan, right? And if you can walk around, if I can put in a T shirt that says, hey, I'm a Titan, you know, one of the best examples of this is Steven Larson. He has, he has a shirt that he sells to people it's called it just has capitalist pig on the front are like happy to be a capitalist pig are proud to be a capitalist pig. It's kind of a statement that's a little bit audacious, but what happens is people identify with that. They get into your branding, they really love what you're doing. So anyways, I just focus on those two things. Okay, builders, change your messaging. If you're failing, all you have to do change your messaging, ask the people in your audience what they want and give it to them. also attach what they need with that, okay. Secondly, make sure that your branding is on point. This is the perfect time For you to reevaluate what you're doing step back and say, Okay, I want to change my brand name. If you need to have a website builder, all these different things, right? You need to change them or things, get logos, whatever have to do do it now because right now, business is slow, but the people who are going to come out the other end millionaires of this Coronavirus are the ones who have been rebranding, okay, they're the ones who have been redoing their message. So I hope you will take advantage of this.
